THE HISTORY›
OTAT stands for "One Tie, All Tie." Founded in 2020 during the pandemic by Shane Thomason, John Choi, Kevin Chen, and Tim Melton. Started as a 9-hole match for $10/hole with no handicaps — except Choi got a stroke on hole 3. As the group grew, Choi was taken off welfare and the game was formalized into what it is today.

⛳ THE FORMAT›
- 9-hole stroke play event in pre-assigned groups
- Minimum 10 players required to hold a match
- Weekly $100 entry must be paid to CFO John Choi by first tee time
- Players leaving early forfeit remaining holes
- All groups start on the same hole and play consecutive holes
- No need to finish a hole if your score exceeds the lowest posted score for that hole
- If two or more players tie a hole, the entire field ties and skins carry forward
- One outright winner takes the hole + all carryovers
⚠️ THE STEED RULE›
- If there are exactly 10 players confirmed and a player cancels within 1 hour of the first tee time, dropping the field below 10:
- That player still owes the full weekly buy-in regardless of whether they play
- The match proceeds as normal with the remaining field

🕳️ HOLE IN ONE›
- Automatic winner of ALL skins for the day — event is suspended immediately
- Player is automatically included in the seasonal playoff event
🏆 SWEEP THE FIELD›
- Any player who sweeps the field for the day is automatically included in the seasonal playoffs
➕ EXTRA HOLES›
- 3+ hole carryover after hole 9: Entire field continues sudden death OTAT until someone wins a skin or board calls the night. Each player contributes $10/hole beyond hole 10.
- 2 or fewer hole carryover: All players report to the putting green for OTAT putting sudden death. Winner receives the carried skins (each tied hole counts as one skin, the putt counts as one skin).
- Any player winning 4+ skins in a day buys a round of drinks

🎯 PLAYOFF FORMAT›
- Top 12 seasonal points leaders + any official HIO players compete
- Carryovers do NOT apply — compete strictly on total holes won
- If tied after 9 holes, tied players with most skins continue in sudden death
- Last player standing becomes OTAT Champion
📝 SCORE REPORTING›
- One designated scorer per group
- Scores must be posted to the official OTAT WhatsApp thread before the tee box of the following hole
- Format:
G1/H8/Brandt/AlbatrossorG2/H3/Tie/Pars - Emojis allowed after the scoring format is posted ✅
- Failure to report or wrong score = drink violation to all other groups
